Labour Day, a.k.a May Day has always been a day for a big family day-out or a time to catch up with friends over coffee or beer. This yearâs Labour Day will be a little different from the previous years, but it doesnât mean it should stop you from celebrating!
In Singapore, it seems like another holiday that we look forward to since April but Labour Day, or May Day, is more than just that. It is a day where we honour our workers and their contributions to the country. In the past, rallies and resolutions were also seen as a part of Labour Day celebrations where organised workers express their solitude and unity together.
We are not gonna judge even if itâs just an excuse to eat some cake during this period. After all, Labour Day is kind of a celebration for you too! You worked hard to take that slice of cake that youâve desired for a long time. Especially if you are a parent, we know that taking care your children is also kind of a job, so thereâs no better time to reward yourself than enjoying the weekend with cakes and more cakes!
There are several local bakeries taking online orders for this weekend, such as Sweedy Patisserie, Common Chefs Bistro, Cat and the Fiddle, and so on. You are supporting them and satisfying your cravings. Win-win!
Popular game, Animal Crossing is giving fans a treat this May Day where players are gifted a special May Day ticket to fly to a special island. There are also reports that you may have a chance for a random villager to appear in your gameplay.
In addition, entrepreneur Tom Nook even teased fans on Twitter that he prepared a surprise for the players. Fans have speculated that it could be something to decorate your island with. Either way, we canât wait to see whatâs in store this May Day!
